I was just wondering about Essential Nutrients...

Doesn't it seem like an evolutionary flaw that we were not designed to be able to make all of the nutrients our bodies require?

This was emailed to me by a student.

  1. This is a great point. However, I think that we expose our bodies to many other negative "toxins." Because of these toxins, our bodies form free-radicals. With the more free-radicals formed, the more we need to increase our essential nutrients. We may be evolving away from the idea of having bodies that can produce our essential nutrients...

...just my thought. Any other ideas?
